Emmett Kelly, Sr., world-famous clown and creator of Weary Willie, was born in Sedan, Kansas in 1898 and died in 1979 in Sarasota, Florida. Sedan was Kelly's home for seven years. It is nestled among colorful blackjack and redbud trees in the rolling hills of Southeast Kansas.
